Domain registration, Step Three

I am gonna build a site for my niche around this affiliate products I have been chosing. The first thing to do is to register a domain. Your domain name should have your main keyword in it. So if your main keyword is “dog training” you should have “dog training” or the word “dog” in your domain.

I went to www.nameboy.com to register a domain for my affiliate site. I buy from Nameboy because they help you to find an available domain. I registered a short domain with my main keyword in it.

Almost every affiliate program or affiliate product has its own affiliate sections. So i went to the affiliate sections of the products I have been chosing to promote. I wanted to know if they could help me in my promotion.

Two of the products had really great information and tools for their affiliates. I was glad to see that because it is much easier to promote in affiliate marketing when you have help from your affiliate managers..

That was all I did today with my affiliate marketing business…..

Step Two; How to choose Affiliate programs…

After I have picked my niches and chosed the one I want to start with it is time for step two. That would be choosing affiliate products to promote because our goal here is to make money with affiliate programs.

There is to ways of looking for products. One way is to type in your main keyword + affiliate programs in to google. The other way is to go to big affiliate sites like www.clickbank.com.

I am gonna sell digital products for my niche so the best place for digital products is clickbank. In my opionin the best stuff to sell online is digitalproducts. It is easier to sell and the commisions are higher. In Clickbank you got digital products like, ebooks, videos, audios, softwares and membershipsites.

What I do is to go to Clickbanks.com and go to their marketplace. In there you can search the marketplace by categorie, sub categorie or keyword.

In this case I wrote my main keyword in to the keyword section and clickbank listed up all the products related to my niche. Here is how it looks like…

When I am choosing a product to promot the first thing I want to do is to look on some things, the first one is $/sale, it is the commision you will get.

The second one is %refd which is how much of the sales is coming from affiliates. The higher the better, that means that affiliates make money with it and I can too.

The third thing is grav: This is what Clickbank says about gravity:

“Number of distinct affiliates who earned a commission by referring a paying customer to the publisher’s products. This is a weighted sum and not an actual total. For each affiliate paid in the last 8 weeks we add an amount between 0.1 and 1.0 to the total. The more recent the last referral, the higher the value added.”

So if the gravity is high than it has had lots of sales from lots of different affiliates over the past eight weeks and that is a good sign.The next thing I do is that I visit the sales page of every product and read them to see if the page will convert visitors in to buyers. I simply put my self in the shoes of the prospects and see if I would by this products. It is important that the salesletter is good or it will be difficult to sell.

That was what I did to choose products for my niche. I say products because I choosed three products to promote. You will see why later as we progress……

This Is Exactly What I Did To Choose My Niche

I thougt choosing and finding a profitable niche in my affiliate marketing would be difficult. But it is easy. You have to focus and of course have some information on how to find profitable ones. That is what you have mentors for…=)

So I sat down and brainstormed three topics. Here is a great clue of how to think, when I sat down and was thinking I thought that millions of people daily are experiencing some trauma about either a circumstance that they are involved or something to do with their appearance or health. These people are desperate for solutions that will make their problems go away and they are willing to pay a price for it.

So I picked three niches and started my marketing research and researched the niche one by one. I went to http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/ and looked for how many searches my main keyword had. Then I went to google and typed my keyword to see how many results (competitors) came up. If at least the first page of google is full of ads than i know that it is a profitable niche and it was so i continued. I went to amazon.com and magazines.com to see if there are magazines and books related to my main keyword. Lastly I checked clickbank marketplace to see if there was at least two ebooks on my topic.

The next thing was to see what problems people face in this market. By doing that I can understand my niche better and if I know the problems all i have to do is to point them to the solution and I am sure that they will buy…Why? because they already want it.

To do this you have to go to forums and places like yahoo answers. To find forums, just type your main keyword + forums or go to www.big-bord.com to find the biggest forum in your niche.

I researched all three of my choosen niche and picked randomly one of them to start with. Thats it. By doing this simple research I now know if my niche is profitable and what kind of product I should promote…this is not a rocket science…

Affiliate Marketing Step by Step. Here is Step One

In my thoughts affiliate marketing is the best and easiest way to make money online. You can make money fast as an affiliate however it is not a “get quick rich scheme”. It’s a real business, and there is work involved in order to achieve your goals. Our purpose here is to build a solid and longterm business. To do that you have to have a plan and do everything step by step.

My first step is think to set up a goal for my business and think of how much time I can devote to my business. I have already set up my goal. It is to make $300 dollars per months. I know it sounds not much to you but I like to set up my goal small first so that it will be easier to reach it, after I have reached my first goal I can have a new goal. So to reach $300 I have to make $10 per day. It doesn’t sound much. But is good for a start. And I know if I work hard I can reach my first goal very fast. I it will give me more confidence and more focused and keep me going.

Next thing is that I have to have a market to enter, a niche. Here is what I am going to do. I am going to choose three niches. Forget about all the tools and keyword tools for finding niches. The best tool for finding niches is the brain. I am going to do brainstorming to find my three niches. When you are starting out it is best to choose a topic you are interested in or have a expertise. It will be easier and you will not feel that you are working. However if you have diffulties to choose a topic there are some profitable topics like health, golf, weight loss, dog training….

After I have found my niches I am going to do a market reasearch and research my niches to see how profitable they are and what problems people are facing in this niches.

This first step is very important and one of the difficult ones, do your niche research right and you are half way to success.

Where are you going to start when it comes to buildning an online business?

The amount of information available to new online business owners is overwhelming. It’s easy to get lost in the sea of ebooks, audio recordings, blogs and things like that. I know I have been there, it is too much of info out there. Everyone is saying different things to do that the only thing you do is to think and think without taking action. You must get rid of the information overload syndrome and start to take action.

Don’t think the only thing online marketers sell is products to other online marketers. In your research on how to build a successful online business you’ve probably noticed just how many people are in the business of selling to other online marketers. But don’t be fooled into thinking this is the only way people are making money online. In fact, it’s probably not even the best. There are a lot of entrepreneurs who are quietly making a lot of money selling products and services to niches outside of Internet Marketing. Finding your own niche(s) is important to creating a lasting business with fewer competitors.

The best way is to start with affiliate marketing. What is an affiliate then? Well an affiliate (sometimes called an affiliate marketer, associate, partner, or simply “online money-maker” is someone who promotes the products of another company and receives a commission or some other payment for each paying customer they find. Ask anyone who is making money online how they got started, very few will say they dived straight into building their own stuff and selling it. Way too risky! Most will say they started off promoting other people’s stuff, usually on their website or through a mailing list.

That is exactly what I am doing now, I am an Affiliate MarketerNext time I will start with my affiliate business and take it step by step….

Are you aware of your mistakes?

My good friend and mentor Franck Silvestre have written a great report “7 deadly affiliate mistakes”. Franck is my mentor and helping me to take my affiliate marketing business to the next level. Yesterday he told me to read his report about the mistakes he had done earlier and learnt from it.

After I read the report I realised that I was making almost the same mistakes and this mistakes caused me to move to the next level. One of the biggest mistakes I make, even discribed in the book is not having a clear plan of action. You have to have a solid, proven plan. Well this problem is difficult to solve by one self. I think you will need a coach to help you with this.

Well that is why I am getting help from my new mentor Franck Silvestre, so that I can solve this problem. I will write my progress here every day so that you can follow along and learn as I learn…

Who the heck is Mehmet Onatli

Hi there, my name is Mehmet Onatli and I want to welcome you to my new affiliate and internet marketing blog. My hope is to share with you all the things I have learnt (still learning a lot) from affiliate marketing and internet marketing.

But before I start it is a good idea if I told you little bit about myself. Well I have a small accountant firm and work as an accountant and a business consultant. I have been doing that since 2003 after I finished the university here in Sweden. I have a MBA degree towards finance and business analyzing. I have a very stressful job and I work a lot of hours in a day. I don’t like it because of the stress and because I can’t have enough spare time to be with my family.

That was why a year ago I got fed up with my business and started to look for a business where I will have more time for my family and work where and when ever I want. Don’t ask how, but I got an email two months later from a marketing guru about his affiliate program (plug in profit site) that would help me to quit my job and have a online business as an internet marketer. It sounded great for several reasons, Firstly I have a passion for marketing, have studied it a lot and to learn a new way of marketing sounded interesting. Secondly if I succeeded I would have more time for my family and would be able to work as I wanted. So I joined.

Since then I have had a lot of coaches and have learn a lot and I am still learning. I don’t have my Plug in profit site anymore because I have discovered that it is too competitive in the make money niche and I am doing niche marketing now, believe me I am doing much better now. I have made money here and there with affiliate marketing but I am not a big shot marketer, and the amounts I make are small compared to the market leaders out there.
